Bachmann Bags the Big Names

August 26th, 2008 – 6:09 PM by Patricia Lopez

Sixth District Congresswoman Michele Bachmann will feature some of the Republican Party’s biggest names at fundraisers during the upcoming convention. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a top contender for VP, will be the draw at a Labor Day bash for Bachmann at the University Club, while former House Speaker Newt Gingrich will perform the same service for Bachmann on Wednesday. Want a picture? It’ll cost you a cool $500 a pop.
Bachmann, who is fighting for a second term against Democrat El Tinklenberg, has also been tapped for CNN this evening, to offer her take on the evening’s proceedings at the DNC. A possible preview: Bachmann said in a conference call today with reporters that she’d be waiting for Hillary Clinton to “reach out to Republicans.” There’s a chance Bachmann may be disappointed.

It’s interesting that as soon as we start digging into B. Hussein Obama’s close ties terrorist Bill Ayers, the liberal Star Tribune quickly changes the subject.

Speaking of Michele Bachmann, I would like to see her become the first woman President.

Things must be boring in the DNC. I am repeating a link to the Obama “Friend’s” video for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks Cash N. Carey!

Thanks a great video. Shouldn’t the process of selecting a President weed out people like Obama? I guess when liberals are hell bent on chosing a black man, qualifications are overlooked and don’t matter.

I think a great ticket for the future would be Michele Bachmann/Condi Rice. They are two women America should be proud of, and either one of them would be a great first woman President.

I can’t help but stick up for Michele. The left likes to attack her because she’s a Christian woman who dares to support preserving traditional marriage, but she really is the best representative Minnesota has in Washington (her and John Kline that is).

Chicago Sun Times: Obama’s Connection To Ayers Is A “Phony Flap”.

Washington Post: Obama-Ayers Link “Is A Tenuous One.”

Noam Scheiber Of The New Republic: “I Don’t See Evidence Of Any Relationship” Between Obama And Ayers.

The NY Sun reported: Obama Links To Ayers Were “Pretty Slender Ties.”

Interesting that you’re not disturbed by McCain’s close ties to Oliver North the guy responsible for helping to illegally funnel arms to our enemies in Iran and using the proceeds to provide money and weapons to support the terrorist actions of the Contras in Nicaragua who was convicted in 1989 of shredding documents, accepting an illegal gratuity and aiding and abetting in the obstruction of Congress.

Dora,

Thanks for pointing out the liberal media’s attempts to sanitize Obama’s past. I don’t buy it though.

Goodnight everyone!

Dora says:

Can’t handle the truth, eh DTSI?

Dora says:

August 26th, 2008 at 8:37 pm

And suddenly speechless about McCain’s ties to North.

dare2sayit.com says:

August 26th, 2008 at 8:47 pm

Dora,

Ties to North don’t compare to ties with terrorism, racism and anti-Americanism, all which B. Hussein Obama has.

Goodnight!

Cash N. Carey says:

Dora,

According to the NY SUN:”His paper trail is surprisingly thin, the papers of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which he chaired and in which the unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers was heavily involved, were suddenly closed to National Review’s Stanley Kurtz by the Richard J. Daley Library at the University of Illinois.”

If you would like we can double check all of your “headlines”. Even the lib papers can’t justify being friends with a terrorist.

Hope you enjoyed the video. There are more to come.

Dora says:

August 26th, 2008 at 9:28 pm

CNC, Guess you missed the story that the U of I had to get the proper release and now that they have it the papers are being released.

DTSI, you’re forgetting about McCain’s ties to Hagee and Parsley who have had their own problems with their hate filled statements. Even against the Catholic Church.

And if you don’t think North’s actions were directly supporting terrorism then you are really ignorant. McCain calls North his friend and touted his endorsement.

Is anyone watching the Hillary “campaign video” at the dnc right now? wow, takes nuts. there shre are alot of hillary signs in the audience.

now, i am not a political guru but shouldnt you get a little bump in the polls when you select your vp and are hosting your convention, not keep dropping and be down 2 points now. all mccain has to do now is not blow the vp pick and he is going to win.

O.T. says:

August 26th, 2008 at 9:46 pm

they showed mobama when hillary was getting her standing ovation and she certainly looked like she wanted to “b*tch slap dat ho”.

even more hillary signs now.

Wow– I just felt like I had six shots of D2, and now I’m barfing it all back up. Yuck.

Michelle Obama always looks like she’s about ready to kick someone’s ass, OT. Even when she looks at her daughters–it’s her eyebrows.

Not sure if you’ve ever been to one of those events OT, but they hand out signs to everyone to be used to maximum photographic effect. It’s like a broadway production - all showbiz. They’ll be doing the same thing next week.

But I will right now throw down the gauntlet and challege anyone who suggests some kind of meaningful anything is going on at these conventions - it’s a dog and pony show all the way — both parties. Aside from the people, they’re pretty much interchangeable.

Dora says:

August 26th, 2008 at 10:38 pm

Poor OT, you were predicting that Hilary was going to doom Obama. Hilary made it very clear that Obama is her candidate and “no way, no how, no McCain”. She did an excellent job of making sure her supporters understood that it was not about her, that it was about what’s best for the country and that if they supported her agenda they should not sit on the sidelines but work hard for Obama’s election.

You really have a dismal record when it comes to political predictions. If you think McCain is going to win, I feel pretty good about Obama’s chances.

SgtP, what’s going on at the convention is to fire up the people there so that they will come home and work their butts off until election day.

SgtPendleton says:

August 27th, 2008 at 4:21 am

Dora, in this day and age, it’s essentially a media event designed to give the party the maximum amount of media coverage. Yeah, I think it fires up the party loyalists and supporters, but no one’s going to spent $500 million getting campaign people fire up — it’s for the media.

I think the difference bewteen you and me is that I’m kind of a political atheist, because I believe that during a campaign, principles are the first thing to go…It’s all about the win.

So I do sort of understand where OT’s coming from. Dora, Hillary is a shrewd, tough, take-no-prisoners bad ass politician (I like that about her). She’s been in the game for 30 years, and she knows how to get what she wants. She’s way too sophisticated to openly doom Obama.

I think she’s confident Obama’s not going to win in the fall, and she’s planning her strategy for 2012 as we speak. Yes, last she endorsed Barack, but the #1 beneficiary of that speech is Hillary.

It’s also to smooze with all the lobbyist and corporate sponsors they bash all the time.

Did you see the report where a resturant had giant spoons made up so the politicians could eat the free meal??? Couldn’t put it on a plate or it would have been illegal.

Sure am glad those democrats follow the spirit of the law.

Change.. what a joke.

More to follow next week…

“They got handled like they were criminals”

What did they expect, they are criminals, or at least criminal suspects.

Now all they have to do is file the charges against the company.

Probably none… are you saying a latino in the U.S. is undocumented by definition???
