Senate race poll results coming soon
September 17th, 2006 – 3:24 PM by Eric BlackJust like yesterday with the Guv’s race. I’ll post the new Minn. Poll numbers on the Senate race soon after 9 tonight and link to the poll story by esteemed colleague Pat Lopez for more details. To review the bidding:
The last Minn. Poll, taken the second week in July, had DFLer Amy Klobuchar leading by 50-31 over Republican Mark Kennedy. Independence Party nominee Robert Fitzgerald had three percent support in that poll.
Since then, the race has been polled seven times by five other organizations using a range of methods (internet, robo-dialing, traditional phone interview). Every poll has shown Klobuchar ahead but the margins have ranged from five points up to 16.

One thing I can say is that this polling firm is historically consistent in its inaccuracy. Hope you didn’t pay too much for this wasted service.
If the Star Tribune has anything to do with a poll, don’t believe it. It’s certain to project an advantage to liberal democrats.
Ha ha the results havent even be realeased and the attack hounds from the extreme right are already blathering on about how this poll is unfair. Why don’t you look at your own internals and I’ll bet you see similar numbers. Isn’t it funny how your boy Kennedy is already attacking Amy because they know they are behind. Give it up! Stick a fork in Kennedy he’s done.
I don’t think the Strib has ever underestimated how well a liberal will do in a race, ever. Let’s put it that way.

Polls are not predictors of the final vote. Doesn’t matter if she wins by 24, 10, or even 5 percentage points in the final vote tally.
Polls indicate momentum. Clearly Amy has it and Mark doesn’t.

It averages out all of the major polls taken for this senate race(and all others). No matter how you slice it, Mark Kennedy is not doing well in any of the more recent polls. And his latest television & radio ads are surely signs of desperation.
I feel so badly for all of the people who sent money to his campaign, trusting that he would run a decent, honorable race.
His campaign strategy is an embarrassment to himself, his handsome family, sweet parents and to all of his supporters.
